คณะรัฐมนตรีมีมติเห็นชอบการปรับปรุงมาตรการยกเว้นวีซ่าและการตรวจลงตราเข้าประเทศของไทย เมื่อวันที่ 14 กรกฎาคม 2569 โดยปรับลดระยะเวลาพำนักโดยไม่ต้องขอวีซ่าจากเดิม 60 วัน เป็น 30 วัน หรือ 15 วัน ตามสิทธิของแต่ละประเทศ เพื่อยกระดับการบริหารจัดการด้านตรวจคนเข้าเมืองให้มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น

มาตรการดังกล่าวมีเป้าหมายเพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการเดินทาง ควบคู่กับการอุดช่องโหว่ด้านความมั่นคง ป้องกันการใช้สิทธิการเข้าประเทศในทางที่ไม่เหมาะสม และลดความซ้ำซ้อนของสิทธิประโยชน์ภายใต้หลัก "หนึ่งประเทศ หนึ่งสิทธิประโยชน์"

ภายใต้มาตรการใหม่ พลเมืองจาก 59 ประเทศและดินแดน จะได้รับสิทธิยกเว้นวีซ่าเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวไม่เกิน 30 วัน รวมถึงอินเดีย โครเอเชีย บัลแกเรีย ไซปรัส มอลตา และมัลดีฟส์ ขณะที่มอริเชียสและเซเชลส์จะได้รับสิทธิพำนักโดยไม่ต้องขอวีซ่าไม่เกิน 15 วัน
ส่วนสิทธิ Visa on Arrival (VoA) จะยังคงมีสำหรับอาเซอร์ไบจาน เบลารุส และเซอร์เบีย โดยอินเดียจะถูกยกเลิกสิทธิ VoA เนื่องจากได้รับสิทธิยกเว้นวีซ่าแล้ว

มาตรการที่ปรับปรุงใหม่จะครอบคลุม 65 ประเทศและดินแดน และจะมีผลบังคับใช้ 15 วันหลังประกาศในราชกิจจานุเบกษา
รัฐบาลยืนยันว่า การปรับปรุงครั้งนี้มุ่งสร้างระบบตรวจคนเข้าเมืองที่มีความโปร่งใส ตรวจสอบได้ และมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น พร้อมรักษาสมดุลระหว่างการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว การขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจ และการคุ้มครองความมั่นคงของประเทศ

Thailand Revises Visa-Free Entry Rules, Introduces New 30-Day and 15-Day Stay Limits

Thailand's Cabinet has approved revisions to the country's visa exemption and visa entry measures, reducing the previous 60-day visa-free stay to 30 days or 15 days, depending on the visitor's nationality. The decision was approved on July 14, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen immigration management while maintaining travel convenience.

The revised policy is designed to close security loopholes, prevent misuse of entry privileges, and eliminate overlapping benefits under the "one country, one entitlement" principle.
Under the new measures, nationals of 59 countries and territories will be eligible for visa-free entry for tourism for up to 30 days, including India, Croatia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, and the Maldives. Citizens of Mauritius and Seychelles will receive visa-free stays of up to 15 days.

Meanwhile, Visa on Arrival (VoA) privileges will remain available for nationals of Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia. India's VoA eligibility will be withdrawn following its inclusion in Thailand's visa exemption scheme.

The revised measures will apply to 65 countries and territories and will take effect 15 days after their publication in the Royal Gazette.
According to the government, the changes are intended to establish a more transparent, accountable, and efficient immigration system while supporting tourism, promoting economic growth, and safeguarding national security.
