Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to easing tensions along their shared border.
Anutin expressed gratitude to Hun Manet for his letter of condolence over the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand, before emphasizing the importance of following through on the joint statement agreed on October 26, 2025.
The plan centers on four key priorities:
1) Pulling back heavy weapons from border areas
2) Clearing landmines
3) Cracking down on transnational crimes, especially online scam networks
4) Improving border management and coordination
Anutin called for concrete and sustained action on the withdrawal of heavy weapons and urged faster cooperation on demining, cross-border crime suppression, and diplomatic communication. Both sides agreed to task their foreign ministers with holding follow-up talks as soon as possible.
