The meeting brought together representatives from media and information agencies of all 11 ASEAN Member States.
The meeting discussed ways to implement regional policies into concrete actions through joint projects and activities among ASEAN Member States.
This year marks the first year of implementing projects and activities under the ASEAN Communication Master Plan III 2026–2030 and the ASEAN Work Plan for Information and Media 2026–2035.
During the meeting, the Thai delegation joined discussions on a new project proposal focusing on developing media literacy learning leaders and promoting responsible media use, with an emphasis on empowering ASEAN youth to share their knowledge with their networks and help expand the initiative at the regional level.
The ASEAN Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) is convened annually as a platform for ASEAN Member States to exchange views, monitor the progress of projects supported by the ASEAN Cultural Fund in the previous year, and consider new project proposals.
The meeting serves as an important mechanism for ASEAN Member States to jointly advance regional communication and public information policies and approaches, while strengthening public understanding, awareness, and a sense of unity among the peoples of ASEAN.
